38 weeks: His heartbeat was normal in the 120's. He's probably around 7 pounds. Dr. predicts 7.3 pounds. He could come anyday. Should he not come on May 18, scheduled induction date is May 20! Can't be soon enough for Mom, as every task is increasingly difficult and uncomfortable.
37 weeks (can't be any bigger than watermelon, there's no more room!): His heartbeat was normal in the 150's. He's probably in the mid - high 6 pound range. He's still head down and low. Dr. predicts he'll arrive sometime during the 39th week. He moves less now that space is limited. We have our bags packed and camera ready!
36 weeks (watermelon size): His heartbeat was normal in the 140's. We've grown a good bit in 2 weeks. He's about 5 1/2 to 6 pounds! Dr. doesn't think he'll be bigger than a 7 pound baby when he's born. He's "dropped", meaning he's in the head down position, low and ready for delivery. I asked if the Dr. could give us a prediction on arrival- she said probably a few more weeks. Chantal predicts he'll come the week of May 10 (Mother's Day would be extra special). Curtis predicts May 12-14th. We took a tour of the hospital on the labor and delivery unit. We're ready for when the time comes!
34 weeks (pumpkin size): Heartbeat was strong, loud and normal in the 150's. He's measuring about 4 pounds. Dr. says we're progressing on schedule. He moves quite a bit everyday. Mom's stomach ripples and pops out when he's extremely active, especially during the evening and at bedtime. He gets hiccups more often now. We started childbirth classes- t
32 weeks (large honeydew melon size): Heartbeat was normal in the 160's. Dr. says he's measuring 2 1/2 - 3 pounds still. (Ultrasound picture right) He's progressing just fine. There are no concerns to speak of. He's started to hiccup every few days. It's been fun for us to feel him when moving, rolling, kicking or hiccupping. He still keeps Mom up at all hours of the night. At this point, he has all 5 senses. 8 more weeks!
30weeks (large butternut squash size): Heartbeat was normal in the 160's. He's been very active these days, hence a little higher heartrate. Dr. says he is not getting too big, but progressing right on schedule. He's about 3 pounds this week. Bearfoot and pregnant has a new meaning.
28 weeks (eggplant size): 3rd trimester! Heartbeat was normal in the 150's. He is about 2 lbs, 4 oz and 15 cm from crown to rump (about 10 inches). 15 inches head to foot. Mom's ribs are sore and back is aching these days. Good night's sleep is a distant memory. He is active and moving a ton everyday. Only 12 weeks to go!
24 weeks (papaya size): heartbeat was normal in the 140's. All else is progressing well. He is kicking at least 30 times a day! Mom's ribs are sore from them expanding to make room for baby Grant. Grant's been keeping Mom up at all hours of the night. Dad is able to feel him move and kick!
20 weeks (small cantaloupe size): heartbeat was normal in the 140's. All is normal and progressing well. He's starting to kick a little each day. Halfway there!
At 19 weeks (mango size) we found out it's quite obviously a BOY from the ultrasound pictures!! (see post below) All is pro
gressing very well. Dr. said we should have a great pregnancy. Baby is 11 oz. He has 2 hands, 2 feet, good skeletal structure, 4 ventricals in the heart, good stomach and blood flow. The head and cranial structures all looked normal too. Chinese fortune translations turned out to be true! I also had two dreams I was having a boy despite my theory that I was having a girl!At 16 weeks (avocado size) and 4 days we heard the heartbeat! It was normal, in the 150's. No pictures. Dr. said all is going well and seemingly fine. It wasn't very eventful, but gave us good confirmation that all is progressing as it should.

At 13 weeks, 3 days (peach size) (ultrasound pics right) we heard and saw the heartbeat! It was 160 bpm. It made a fast galloping sound. Baby is progressing right on schedule. All looks normal at about 3 in long. The baby jumped around a little in Mom's uterus and waved its arms too. Mostly baby seemed very comfortable sleeping in its warm curved spot and didn't enjoy being woken up. You can see some facial features in top photo.
At our 12 week (plum size) appointment, we heard the heartbeat. It was normal at 160 bpm. It was twice as fast as Mom's. It made a fast whoosing sound. No pictures, booooo!

(Ultrasound of baby at 8 weeks, 3 days (lima bean size) (left)). At 8 weeks we saw and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time! Heartbeat was 158 bpm. It is 1.87cm (3/4 inch). Baby didn't look like much yet, but Dr. said all looked really good!

Congrats....it's just gotta be a girl =)
Congratulations again!!
Hello, I've just voted for the name of the baby! I've chosen Kingston and Madeline. It's unbelivable, Madeline was MY favorite (well not JC's so we had to find something else)...
I like Madeline a lot but wish there were more boy choices ;). I stuck my head out the back door and yelled , "JACKSON, get away from that pond". The imaginary voice said, Im bigger than you!
Name suggestions are welcome. We're not dead set on anything yet- we just have to agree :) Chan
Maybe a boys name that is not a city? He would be called Jack sometimes. Kids would tease him and call him Jackass.
I have to look after my grandson.
You know the baby head looks just like Curitis when he was little. It is going to be a little boy. yes defiantly.
Oh, it might be a girl, that would be good too. Well I changed my mind, it's going to be a girl, right.
So far, at 15 weeks, the baby looks like a boy to me. I will keep an eye out for your next posting and see if the baby still looks like a boy or a girl. I voted for Jackson, but if it's a girl, I will need to change my vote. She might get teased with a boy name....
Congratulations!
Oh WOW our fist cajun prince ... yeah :D
