Nursery Complete!

Crib is a chocolate brown purchased by Pawpaw Keith & Mama Nel. Mother Goose mobile brought from Belgium from Aunt Juliette, will put little Grant to sleep. Bedskirt hand sewn by Mimi Marie.

We hand painted silhouettes of a tree, leaves, birds, acorns and a squirrel to carry the park-like theme. We designed it to shade over his crib. It covers almost three walls. Chair and ottoman with "Little Prince" pillow were loaned to us by Uncle Paul and Aunt Kelly and pillow given to use by cousin Wendy. Pirogue (originally built by Pawpaw and used during our wedding) was rebuilt by Pawpaw as a shelving piece. Monogrammed blankets, given as gifts, on his chair and crib. (Max already enjoys the nursery, especially the new soft rug & looking out of the windows in hopes of discovering a lizard!)

Armoire is a family antique that was passed down to us by Great Aunt Stephanie. We refinished it by stripping, sanding, staining and polyurethaning it. It was a chore, but worth it!
Toy chest was handmade by Pawpaw Keith (originally for Max), but Grant inherited it! We also stained and polyurethaned it to match the rest of the chocolate-colored furniture. Pillows were hand-sewn by Mimi and she also made the memory board with the same fabrics.

Changing station (below), converted from the built-in desk. We painted the cabinets, replaced the countertop, stained and polyurethaned it. We replaced hinges and cabinet pulls.
New blue roman shades cover the windows for nap times. Curtis' old "surf-themed" skate boards flank the closet. The rocking horse was made by Pawpaw Keith and Mama Nel. He's already got a full closet!
Nursery is ready for Grant's arrival!!

Monogrammed hooded bath towels given to us as a gift. They hang in the bathroom already. (Blue cow and green pig. So Cute!)

WOW!! It really looks great. I can't believe how much you have done since the last time I was there just a short while ago, you two have been busy. I think it is so wonderful how much time, thought and love you have put into Grant's nursery, he is blessed to have you and Curtis as his parents.

Love,
Wendy
